In the process of Russia’s forced annexation of Crimea, NATO reformed their combat readiness through the summit that led from year 2014, 2016, to 2018. Accordingly, the German Armed Forces(Bundeswehr) executed an innovative defense reformations to meet NATO's demands. However, the reformation of the Bundeswehr cannot be perceived as the ‘perfect’ success due to unbalanced defense budget spending. Meanwhile, in February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. NATO published a new Strategic Concept, demonstrating strengthening of the alliance's defense capabilities once again. Also, Germany showed the most initiative by military reinforcement in NATO. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz declared an increase of the defense budget to 2% of GDP, and established a ‘special fund’ worth about 100 billion euros. Through the expansion of the budget, the Bundeswehr is in the process of reinforcement of each military branch that were deficient in quality and capacity.
