발달장애 아동을 둔 어머니의 행복이 곧 발달장애 아동의 행복을 가져다준다는 관점에서만 세 이하의 발달장애아동의 어머니를 12 대상으로 심리적 웰빙 수준과 심리적 웰빙에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 첫째, 발달장애 아동 어머니의 심리적 웰빙의 수준은 보통 수준으로 나타났지만, 어머니들 간 변량 자체는 매우 작게 나타났다. 둘째, 다중회귀분석을 이용하여 발달장애 아동의 어머니 심리적 웰빙에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 사회적 지원이 많을수록, 가족응집력이 강할수록, 종교가 없는 경우에 비해 있는 경우가, 그리고, 건강상태가 양호할수록 심리적 웰빙이 높았다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 심리적 웰빙에 있어서 발달장애 자녀의 장애로 인한 환경과의 관련성은 적다고 해석할 수 있다. 심리적 웰빙에 강한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 사회적 지원과 가족응집력은 어머니의 웰빙 증진에 중요한 시사점을 제공한다. 그에 따라 어머니의 건강을 증진시킬 프로그램을 동시에 고려될 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 기여점은 기존의 스트레스 변인을 중심으로 한 접근법과 비교하여 볼 때 어머니의 웰빙 변인을 중심으로 한 긍정적인 접근을 시도했다는 것이다. 발달장애 어머니의 웰빙 수준을 높이는 주요 변인인 사회적 지원과 가족응집력 증진을 위한 각 가족의 욕구와 특성을 고려한 개별화된 가족지원 정책이 필요하며, 나아가 이를 제도적으로 지원해 주는 발달장애인과 그 가족을 위한 중추적인 전문화된 특화기관 설립이 요구된다.
Based on the aspect that the wellbeing of the mothers who have children under the age of 12 with developmental disability directly affect their children's wellbeing, this study identifies the factors that may affect the psychological wellbeing of the mothers with children with developmental disability and measures the level of it. This study reveals that the level of the psychological wellbeing of the mothers surveyed is in average level with a rather small variation among the surveyed. According to the multiple regression analyses of the factors affecting the psychological wellbeing of the mothers with children with developmental disability, it is found that their psychological wellbeing is better, as social support increases, family cohesion is strong, they are religious, and physical health is good. These results may show that the psychological wellbeing of mothers is less related to the environment itself formed by the developmental disability of their children. Factors of social support and family cohesion, such as development of wellbeing-enhancing programs, give some important implications to the efforts that can enhance their psychological wellbeing. This study may contribute to the existing studies with the positive approach oriented to the psychological wellbeing of mothers, rather than the conventional approach oriented to the stress of mothers. Based on this new approach and findings, it is recommended to establish a new individual family-support policy considering each family's individual characteristics and needs for enhancing the social support and family cohesion, which are important factors affecting the level of the psychological wellbeing of the mothers with children with developmental disability. In order to institutionalize the above findings, it is also recommended to establish a new specialized institute that can support children with developmental disability and their family.
