본 연구에서는 2022년 발생한 러시아의 우크라이나 침공 사태를 지리교육 측면에서 접근하는 방법을 살펴보았다. 분석의 틀은 National Geography Standards(1994)의 4가지 관점(공간적 관점, 생태적 관점, 역사적 관점, 경제적 관점)을 활용했다. 먼저 이번 사태의 전개 과정을 살펴보고, 공간적 관점과 역사적 관점을 중심으로 분쟁의 원인을 살펴보았으며, 생태적 관점과 경제적 관점을 중심으로 파급 효과와 영향을 살펴보았다. 4가지 관점은 하나의 현상(국제지역분쟁)을 종합적으로 살펴보기에 유용한 틀이라는 점을 확인하였다. 현재 진행되고 있는 국제지역분쟁 사례에 대해서 지리교육적 접근방법의 틀을 구축하는 것은 다양한 사례개발을 가능하게 하여 지리교육의 사례를 풍부하게 할 수 있을 것이다.

This study examined how to approach the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 in terms of geography education. The framework of the analysis used four perspectives (spatial, ecological, historical, economic) from the National Geography Standards (1994). First, the development process of this situation was examined and the cause was examined focusing on the spatial and historical perspectives, and the ripple effects and influences were examined focusing on the ecological and economic perspectives. It was confirmed that the four perspectives are useful frameworks for comprehensively examining an international regional dispute phenomenon. Establishing a framework for a geographic approach to the ongoing cases of international regional conflicts can enrich geographic education by enabling various case studies development.
