이 연구는 장애아동 가족 관련 국내ㆍ외 연구의 동향을 분석함으로써 향후 장애아동 가족 관련 국내 연구의 방향성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 국내 15개 특수교육 전문학술지와 국외 6개 특수교육 전문 학술지에 게재된 장애아동 가족 관련 연구 623편에 대하여 연구 주제, 연구 유형, 연구 대상으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 사회-문화적 상황에 적합한 장애아동 가족을 관리하기 위한 구체적인 방법에 대한 연구가 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 둘째, 장애아동 가족지원의 질적 향상을 위해 전문가의 전문성 개발 및 향상에 대한 연구가 요구되었으며, 셋째, 장애아동 가족 당사자의 실질적인 요구와 교육 및 서비스 만족도 향상을 위한 지원 방법과 절차 개발을 위한 다양한 방법론적 접근이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 효과적인 가족지원을 위해 연구 대상의 범위를 확대한 연구 및 취학 전 유아의 생애 주기 특징에 따른 효율적이고 체계적인 지원에 대한 연구가 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 다섯째, 국내 장애 영ㆍ유아 가족지원의 질적 향상을 위해 연구 대상자 정보 등 연구 절차의 정확성과 타당성에 충실한 연구가 요구되었다. 이러한 연구의 결과는 향후 특수교육 현장에서 장애아동 가족 관련 연구의 방향성을 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study analyzed trends of domestic & international research related to families of children with disabilities. Literature review was performed as follows. Total 623 articles published in fifteen special education peer-reviewed journals in Korea and six special education peer-reviewed journals in the United States were used for this study. The 623 articles were analyzed in subjects of research, methods of research, the main topics of research. The findings were as below. First, the research related to social-cultural condition for the management of families of children with disabilities is required. Second, the research related to professional development for the quality of family support is required. Third, various methodological approaches are required to meet the family’s needs and to improve service satisfaction. Fourth, the research expanded the range of subjects and considered the life-cycle for younger children is necessary for providing effective family support. Fifth, the research related to accuracy and validity for research procedures is required to improve family support for young children with disabilities. In the future, the results of this study will contribute to the direction on researches related to families of children with disabilities in special education fields.
