본 연구는 수도권에 위치한 4년제 대학의 유아교사 혹은 보육교사 자격증을 수여하는 학과에서 2012년에 개설한 문제행동 지도 관련 교과목의 현황을 살펴보고자 하였다. 총 37개 대학의 41개 학과(유아교육, 아동학과, 복지학과, 보육학과, 유아특수교육과)가 연구 대상으로 선정되었다. 각 학과의 홈페이지에서 제공되는 정보를 통해 6개의 문제행동 지도 과목과 문제행동 지도 관련 과목(‘생활지도’, ‘유아사회교육’, ‘정신건강’, ‘사회정서 발달’)들의 개설현황을 살펴보았다. 또한 41개 학과 중 경기지역에 위치한 2개의 학과의 4학년 학생들 총 45명을 대상으로 설문지 조사를 실시하였다. 학생들은 ‘유아사회교육’과 ‘생활지도’ 과목의 문제행동 지도 관련 내용에 대해서 대체로 만족하며, 두 과목이 문제행동 관련 내용을 어느 정도 포함하고 있는 것으로 평가하였다. 하지만 ‘물리적 환경 구성을 통한 문제행동 예방법’, ‘원인별 문제행동 지도’, ‘문제행동 선별, 진단 도구’, ‘문제 행동 관련 부모 협력’ 내용을 이 두 과목에서 다루었는지에 대한 학생들의 평가는 상대적으로 부정적이었다. 또한 이 5가지 내용에 대한 학생들의 지식 습득 정도도 상대적으로 낮았다. 학생들이 기관에서 경험한 문제행동 유형 중 심각한 행동에 대한 학생들의 지도 효능감이나 수강한 과목의 도움 정도는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 설문지에 응한 거의 모든 학생들은 문제행동 지도 과목이 필요하다고 하였으며, 문제행동을 지도하는 단일 과목을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다.

This study explored behavior management courses and other courses that provided information related to behavior management strategies of pre-service teacher training programs that certified kindergarten teaching licence or child care teaching license in the national capital region. Based on the course information provided by each program in its website, behavior management courses and related courses such as ‘guidance for young children’, ‘social studies in early childhood education’, ‘mental health’, ‘social-emotional development’ were selected for the analysis. Total 73 courses of 41 programs were analyzed about 2012 course schedules(i.d., which semester they were opened for which years of students), course credits, syllabus, and so on. Only six programs provided a behavior management course for third or fourth year students. In addition, the other courses that were selected based on their relation with behavior management provided insufficient information about managing problem behavior. Survey results showed how students of two programs in Kyung-gi area evaluated courses and their behave management skills, and presented what type of courses they prefer to acquire of behavior management skills.
