The purpose of this paper is to compare how English and Korean conceptualize bird names. I have reached the following conclusion. First, I can find the various morphological mappings between simple words, derivatives, and compound words in two languages. Second, on the conceptualization process of compound words, there exist the similar and different conceptualizations between them. In other words, when two language users name the same object, they usually conceptualize similarly. In some cases, however, they conceptualize differently.
