본 논문은 최근 10여 년의 백제문화제 공식 포스터를 연구대상으로 그것에 나타난 특성을 고찰하는 동시에 이를 통해 백제문화제가 더욱 공고한 지역축제로 발전하기 위한 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 백제문화제의 변천을 고찰한 후 백제문화제 공식 포스터에 나타난 객관적 사실과 메타포적 표현을 통해 나타난 특징들을 살펴보았다. 객관적 사실에 있어서는 백제문화제의 주관·주최의 변화, 백제문화제의 개최 시기와 기간, 백제문화제의 주제와 부제의 활용, 백제의 찬란한 문화유산의 발굴과 홍보 등을 고찰하였다. 메타포적 표현에 있어서는 백제문화제의 포스터가 전달하고자 하는 현상이나 메시지를 그대로 보여주는 것이 아니라 다른 이미지를 더하거나 완전히 다른 상관이 없는 이미지로 대체하여 간접적이며 암시적으로 보여주는 있음을 살펴보았다. 70년 가까이 이어온 백제문화제는 1400여 년 전의 고대 동아시아의 강력한 문화대국인 백제의 진면모를 재발견하고, 그 역사와 문화를 21세기에 다시 바라보고 이해하고 다 함께 즐기려는 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있다. 지역 축제로서의 지역 주민이 함께 즐기는 동시에 국내의 몇 안 되는 역사문화축제로써 감동과 즐거움, 그리고 교육적 효과 등이 함께하는 대표적인 한국의 축제로 발전시키기 위해 노력하고 있다. 지금 2010년 세계대백제전에 이어 2023년 다시 대백제전을 준비하고 있다. 이러한 시기에 지난 10여 년의 백제문화제를 뒤돌아보고 이를 바탕으로 좀 더 나은 백제문화제를 만들어가는 작업은 매우 중요한 의의를 가진다고 말할 수 있겠다.

This thesis aims to examine the characteristics of the Baekje Cultural Festival's official posters of the last 10 years as a research subject, and at the same time seek ways to develop the Baekje Cultural Festival into a more solid regional festival. To this end, after examining the changes of the Baekje Cultural Festival, we looked at the characteristics that appeared through the objective facts and metaphorical expressions shown in the official poster of the Baekje Cultural Festival. In terms of objective facts, changes in the supervision and hosting of the Baekje Cultural Festival, the timing and duration of the Baekje Cultural Festival, the use of the theme and subtitle of the Baekje Cultural Festival, and the excavation and publicity of the brilliant cultural heritage of Baekje were considered. In terms of metaphorical expression, it was examined that the poster of the Baekje Cultural Festival does not show the phenomenon or message it wants to convey as it is, but indirectly and implicitly by adding another image or replacing it with a completely different unrelated image. The Baekje Cultural Festival, which has been going on for nearly 70 years, is making various efforts to rediscover the true face of Baekje, a powerful cultural power in ancient East Asia 1400 years ago, and to look back at its history and culture in the 21st century, understand it, and enjoy it together. As a local festival, local residents enjoy it together, and as one of the few historical and cultural festivals in Korea, we are striving to develop it into a representative Korean festival that brings excitement, pleasure, and educational effects. Now, following the World Baekje Exhibition in 2010, we are preparing for the Great Baekje Exhibition again in 2023. At this time, it can be said that the work of looking back on the Baekje Cultural Festival of the past 10 years and making a better Baekje Cultural Festival based on this has a very important significance.
