본 연구의 목적은 동물교감교육 집단프로그램이 청소년의 사회정서역량에 미치는 효과성을 검증하는 것이다. 이에 동물교감교육 집단프로그램이 청소년의 사회정서역량 향상에 효과가 있을 것이라는 연구문제를 증명하기 위해 특성화고등학교에서 위탁받은 1학년 남녀학생 19명을 실험처치집단에 선정하였다. 그리고 다른 특성화고등학교에서 추후 자발적인 참여의사를 표현한 학생 19명을 비교집단에 배정하였다. 실험처치집단에만 동물교감교육 집단프로그램을 적용하였다. 연구결과, 동물교감교육 집단프로그램을 통해 청소년의 사회정서역량 향상에는 통계적으로 유의한 결과가 나타남으로써 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 의사결정-자기표현, 또래관계기술, 자기인식-자기결정의 하위변인에서도 통계적으로 유의한 결과가 나타났다. 이는 동물교감교육 집단프로그램이 청소년의 사회정서역량 향상에 도움이 되는 유용한 접근 방법이었음을 시사해 주는 기초자료가 될 것이다. 또한 이와 관련된 추후 연구의 방향을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this youth is to verify the effectiveness of the animal communion education group program on the social-emotional competency of adolescents. In order to prove the research question that the animal communion education group program would be effective in improving the social-emotional competency of youth, 19 first-year male and female students entrusted by specialized high schools were selected as the experimental treatment group. And 19 students who expressed their intention to participate voluntarily in the future at other specialized high schools were assigned to the comparison group. The animal communion education group program was applied only to the experimental treatment group. As a result of the study, it was found that the animal communion education group program had a positive effect on the improvement of adolescents' social-emotional competency by showing statistically significant results. Also, statistically significant results were found in the sub-variables of decision-making, self-expression, peer relationship skill, and self-awareness, self-determination. This will serve as basic data suggesting that the animal sympathy education group program was a useful approach to help improve the social-emotional competency of adolescents. In addition, the direction of future research related to this was discussed.
