부산항 컨테이너 터미널 포지셔닝 분석에 관한 연구
A Study on the Positioning Analysis of Container Terminal at Busan Port

본 연구는 허핀달-허쉬만 지수(HHI) 및 BCG Matrix를 통해 부산항 컨테이너 터미널의 전략적 위치를 파악하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부산항 9개 컨테이너 전용 터미널의 운영 경쟁력을 2012년부터 2020년까지 연도별로 허핀달-허쉬만 지수를 통해 분석했다. 분석결과, 9개 전용 터미널이 부산항 내 선석을 나눠 가지면서 독과점 현상 없이 치우치지 않고 치열하게 경쟁을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, BCG Matrix 분석결과, 수입이 높고 안정적이며 성장세에 있는 Star 범위에 있는 터미널은 도출되지 않았다. Question Marks 범주에 5개 터미널, Dogs 범주에 3개 터미널 및 Cash Cow 범주에 1개 터미널이 위치했다. 셋째, BCG Matrix 동적 분석결과, 전반적인 부산항의 물동량은 지속 증가하는 것으로 나타났으나, 터미널별 처리물량은 서비스의 안정성, 효율성 등과 같은 다양한 요인과 기항하는 선대의 변화에 따라 수시로 증감이 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

In spite of various studies related to Busan Port, positioning analysis studies targeting individual container terminals of the North Port and New Port of Busan Port based on changes in the freight volume of Busan Port are quite limited. Given that the competitiveness of each terminal in Busan Port can be the basis for securing the overall competitiveness of Busan Port, the purpose of this study is to understand the positions of individual terminals in Busan Port in the market through the Herfindahl-Hirschman index (HHI) and BCG Matrix. The study results are as follows. First, the operational competitiveness of nine dedicated container terminals in Busan Port was analyzed by year from 2012 to 2020 through the HHI. According to the results of the analysis, tthe nine dedicated terminals share berths in Busan Port, are not biased without monopoly, and compete fiercely. Second, the BCG Matrix was analyzed and as a result, no terminals located in the Star range, which are interpreted as having high income and being stable and in a growth trend, were not derived. Five terminals were located in the Question Marks category, three terminals in the Dogs category, and one terminal in the Cash Cow category. Third, as a result of the dynamic analysis of the BCG Matrix, the overall cargo volume of Busan Port was shown to continuously to increase, but the handling volumes by terminal were shown to fluctuate frequently according to changes in the calling fleets according to various factors such as service stability and efficiency.
