연구 목적: 이 연구는 요양병원 간호제공자의 좋은 죽음 인식, 사전연명의료의향서에 대한 지식, 연명의료중단에 대한 태도 및 임종간호수행간 관계를 규명하고 영향요인을 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구 방법: 이 연구는 좋은 죽음 인식, 사전연명의료의향서에 대한 지식, 연명의료중단에 대한 태도 및 임종간호수행 관련 질문지를 이용한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 연구 대상자는 요양병원에 현재 근무하고 있는 간호사, 간호조무사 및 요양보호사로 요양병원에 근무하고 임종간호수행 경험이 있는 180명이었다. 자료 수집은 G광역시와 J도에 소재한 요양병원 6곳에서 2018년 10월 1일부터 11월 15일까지 자료수집하였고 SPSS로 분석하였다. 연구 내용: 요양병원 간호제공자의 임종간호수행은 직종, 임상 경력, 임종간호 교육 경험에 따라 차이가 있었고, 좋은 죽음 인식과 양의 상관관계가 있었다. 임종간호수행에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 간호사, 간호조무사와 좋은 죽음 인식 순으로 나타났으며 설명력은 44.9%였다. 결론 및 제언: 요양병원 간호제공자의 좋은 죽음 인식과 직종은 임종간호수행에 영향을 미치므로, 임종간호수행에 영향을 미치는 좋은 죽음 인식을 향상시킬 수 있는 임종간호 교육 프로그램 개발이 직종별로 요구된다.

This study aimed to identify the relationship between the awareness of good death, knowledge of advance directives, attitudes on withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and terminal care performance among nursing providers in long-term care hospitals. It also examined the factors influencing terminal care performance. This research is a descriptive study using questionnaires measuring the awareness of good death, knowledge of advance directives on life-sustaining treatment, and terminal care performance. The subjects were 180 nursing providers including nurses, nurse aids, and caregivers working in long-term care hospitals at experiences in performing terminal care performance. Data were collected from six long-term care hospitals located in G metropolitan city and J province between Oct. 1 and Nov. 15, 2018. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software. The awareness of good death was found to be a factor influencing terminal care performance, presenting differences based on occupation, clinical experience, and terminal care education experience. The most influencing factor on terminal care performance was nurses, followed by nurse aids and the awareness of good death. The explanatory power was 44.9%. Awareness of good death among nursing providers in long-term care hospitals positively influenced their terminal care performance. It was found that the awareness of good death and occupation influenced terminal care performance. Therefore, terminal care education programs should be developed for each occupation to improve the awareness of good death.
