본 연구의 목적은 초임 유아교사의 부모면담 역량 향상을 위한 교사교육 프로그램을 개발하고 적용한 후 교사들의 변화를 살펴보는 것이다. 문헌연구, 요구도 조사, 프로그램 시안 구성, 전문가 협의의 과정을 거쳐 목적 및 목표, 교육내용, 교수-학습 방법 및 평가 방법을 포함하는 부모면담 역량 향상을 위한 교사교육 프로그램을 구성하였다. 초임교사 5명을 대상으로 2021년 5월 31일부터 10월 12일까지 총 10회의 교사교육 프로그램을 적용하였고, 면담, 반성적 저널, 모의 면담 훈련 및 토의 내용 등의 자료를 수집하여 교사들의 변화를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 부모면담에 대한 초임교사들의 인식이 긍정적으로 변화되었고, 부모에 대한 이해가 높아졌으며, 효과적인 의사소통 방법을 찾고 적용하는 부모면담 능력이 증진되었다. 또한 프로그램 참여 과정에서 교사들 간의 소통과 위로를 통한 성장이 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 부모면담에 대한 초임교사의 이해를 높이고 면담 방법 및 기술을 습득하여 실제 면담에 적용할 수 있도록 지원하는 교사교육의 필요성을 시사하는 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to develop and implement a teacher education program to enhance novice early childhood teachers’ competency in parent-teacher conferences and to examine the changes in teachers. The teacher education program to enhance novice early childhood teachers’ competency in parent-teacher conferences was composed of the goal and objectives, contents, teaching strategies, and evaluation. This program was developed through the process of literature review, need assessment, preliminary design of the program, and professional consultations. A total of 10 sessions in the teacher education program was applied to 5 novice early childhood teachers from May 31 to October 12, 2021. Data from interviews with teachers, reflective journals, simulated parent-teacher conferences and discussions were collected to analyze the changes in teachers. As a result of the study, novice early childhood teachers’ perceptions on parent-teacher conference became positive and their understanding of parents was increased. Their ability to find and apply effective communication methods showed improvement as well. In addition, it was found that the teacher education program facilitated professional development of novice teachers as they participated in active communication and shared comfort with one another. The results of this study suggest the need for teacher education program to enhance novice teachers’ understanding in parent-teacher conference and to hep them acquire and apply communication methods and skills.
