This study aims to analyze the determining factors of food companies’ location and investigate the possibility that the companies move into the Korea National Food Cluster. We collected data by surveying 300 food manufacturing companies to analyze the determinants of their location using the logistic regression model. The result showed that companies facing financial difficulties consider re-location as an alternative to overcome the current situation. In contrast, companies that plan R&D investment consider re-location for their business expansion. When companies are concerned about employee and regional factors, they consider re-location less. It implies that their concerns about manpower outflow and locational restrictions hinder the decision to relocate the workplace. To activate the integration effect of the Korea National Food Cluster by attracting food companies, support from the Korea Food Cluster Promotion Agency and local government is needed to ensure competitiveness through smooth manpower supply and logistics improvement.
