연구 목적: 이 연구는 보건의료 전공 대학생들의 글로벌 의사소통역량 강화를 목표로 특수목적영어 교재 개발을 위한 어휘 목록 개발이다. 연구 방법: 연구 방법은 TED 의학 분야 강연 중 251개의 대본을 수집하여 코퍼스를 구축하고, 워드스미스를 사용하여 기존에 연구되었던 어휘 목록과 비교하여 어휘적 특징을 분석한다. 연구 내용: 이 논문의 연구 내용은 특수목적영어 교재 개발을 위해 TED 강연 자료를 활용하여 어휘 목록을 추출하고 어휘적 특징을 분석한다. TED 강연은 분야별로 관련 지식, 아이디어, 메시지를 일반 대중을 대상으로 전달하므로 실생활에서 사용할 수 있는 실용적인 어휘를 사용한다. 따라서 특정 담화공동체에 속한 구성원들의 글로벌 의사소통역량 강화를 위해서 TED 의학 분야 강연의 텍스트를 분석하고 고빈도 어휘 목록을 작성하여 ESP 교재 개발에 활용한다. 결론 및 제언: 효과적인 학습을 위해서는 학습 목적과 학습자의 수요에 맞는 교재 사용이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 보건의료 계열 전공 학생들을 위한 특수목적영어 교재 개발에 필요한 어휘 목록을 개발하였다. 하지만 한정된 자료에서 어휘를 수집해서 어휘 목록 작성에는 한계가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a word list for the development of ESP textbooks with the goal of strengthening the global communication competency of university students majoring in healthcare. A corpus is constructed by collecting 251 transcripts from TED Talks on the topic of medicine, and then lexical characteristics are analyzed using Wordsmith by comparing it with the previously studied word lists. TED Talks tend to use practical words that are easy to understand and can be used in real life, as it delivers knowledge, ideas, and messages related to each field to the general public. Therefore, in order to improve the global communication competency of members belonging to a specific discourse community, it is very useful to develop a textbook by analyzing the medical texts of TED Talks to make a list of frequently used vocabulary words. However, since the corpus extracts vocabulary from limited data, there may be limitations in making a word list lists.
