연구 목적: 이 연구는 25년간(1989-2014) 개최된 세계한민족축전의 개최 현황과 성과를 검토하고 초국가적 유라시아 한인 스포츠 공동체 네트워크 형성을 위한 제언을 하는 것이다. 연구 방법: 주제와 관련된 학술연구물과 신문기사 등의 문헌연구와 콘텐츠 분석을 사용하였다. 연구 내용: 세계한민족축전은 재외한인 공동체와 네트워크 그리고 민족 정체성을 형성하고 연대감 그리고 자긍심을 고취하는 역할을 수행했다. 그러나 네트워크 후속관리의 어려움, 스포츠 행사로서의 정체성 부재, 참가자들의 고령화도 문제점과 한계로 드러났다. 결론 및 제언: 초국가적 유라시아 한인 스포츠 공동체 네트워크 형성을 위해서는 첫째, 법적·제도적 근거 확보, 둘째, MZ 세대 한인들의 온라인 e스포츠 대회 개최, 셋째, 북한과의 스포츠 네트워크 구축이다. 이 연구가 포스트 팬데믹 시대에 유라시아 한인 스포츠 공동체 네트워크 형성의 필요성 제고에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있기를 기대한다.

This study examines the contents and results of the World Koreans Festival held for 25 years (1989-2014) and makes suggestions for forming a network of transnational Eurasian Korean sports communities. The methodologies used literature study and content analysis. The World Koreans Festival played a role in forming networks with the global Korean community, national identity and solidarity and creating national pride. However, the problems are the difficulties in network management, lack of identity as a sporting event, and aging of participants. In conclusion, It is necessary to secure legal and institutional grounds, hold an e-sports online festival for MZ generations and establish a sports network with North Korea. This research will have a positive impact on the need to form a network of Eurasian Korean sports communities.
