이 연구에서는 조선시대 국가 오례 중 길례와 흉례에 사용된 공예품에 관한 선행 연구들을 살펴보고 향후 과제를 제안하였다. 길례용 공예품 종류 중 제기, 보, 책 등에 관한 연구가 비교적 활발하게 이루어졌고, 길례 공간 중에서는 종묘, 경모궁, 진전, 산릉, 궁원에 배치된 공예품 연구가 진행되었다. 이와 함께 흉례용 공예품 중에는 발인의식에 사용되는 대여, 의장, 방상시, 횃불, 제등에 관한 연구, 산릉의식 중 왕릉과 시조왕릉의 정자각에 비치된 공예품과 명기에 대한 연구가 이루어졌다. 위의 분석을 기반으로 향후 연구방향과 과제를 제시했다. 우선, 의례용 공예품의 재질적 경계를 지우고 다양한 연구분야의 접점을 만들 필요가 있다. 둘째, 문화재적 가치나 심미성이 부족한 의례기물, 의물이 아닌 보조 기능을 하는 공예품, 불태워지거나 매납된 공예품들도 연구의 주제로 삼을 가치가 있다. 셋째, 복합적 성격의 의례용 공예품은 의례와의 관계를 고려하여 연구될 필요가 있다. 넷째, 장인과 제작기술에 대한 연구가 앞으로 심층적으로 이루어져야 한다. 다섯째, 의례공간은 공예품이 존재해야 그 공간의 상징성이 갖춰지는 것이므로 종묘를 비롯한 조선시대 주요 의례공간 내 공예품이 복원되기를 제안한다.
In this study, previous studies on crafts used in Gilrye and Hyungrye rituals in the Joseon Dynasty are reviewed, and future tasks are suggested. Among the crafts for Gilrye, researches on ritual vessels, royal seals, investiture books and inner cases have been actively studied. In terms of comprehensive research by space, research was conducted on rityal crafts placed in Jongmyo, Gyeongmogung, Jinjeon, ancestor tombs, and Gungwon. Among the crafts used for funeral ceremonies, diverse studies have been conducted on palanquins, ceremonial objects, Bangsangshi, lights. And crafts used in the pavilion of the royal tombs during mountain tomb ceremonies and Myeong-Gi buried in the tombs were also investigated. Based on this analysis, future research directions and tasks were suggested. First of all, it is necessary to erase the material boundary of ceremonial crafts and create a contact point for various research fields. Second, ceremonial objects lacking cultural value or aesthetics, crafts with auxiliary functions, and crafts burned or buried also have thematic value to be studied. Third, research on ceremonial crafts of complex nature needs to be conducted in consideration of the relationship with the ritual. Fourth, research on craftsmanship and manufacturing technology is incomplete compared to research on crafts, so it should be studied in depth. Fifth, since the purpose and symbol of the space is to be fulfilled only when crafts exist in the ritual space, the crafts in the ritual must be restored and put in place.
