단극적 세계질서는 다양성을 용인하지 않는다. 이는 기본적으로 유럽 중심주의에 뿌리를 두고 있으며, 오늘날은 이를 미국이 신자유주의적 세계화로 연장해가고 있다. 알렉산드르 두긴(A. Dugin)은 이러한 단극적 세계질서에 저항한 러시아의 하이데거주의자이다. 그는 다극적 세계질서를 통해 러시아인은 물론이고 중국인, 유럽인, 미국인 등이 신자유주의의 경제적 식민성으로부터 해방되어야 한다고 권고한다. 이것이 두긴의 다극적 세계질서에 기초한 유라시아 철학의 핵심이다. 그가 추구하는 철학적 이념(Eurasian Road, Eurasian Mission, Multipolar Alliance, etc.)은 그가 『제4의 정치이론』에서 역설한 것처럼 자유주의(자본주의), 공산주의(마르크시즘), 국가주의(파시즘)의 극복에 초점이 있으며, 궁극적으로는 다양한 문화와 문명들로 구성된 ‘세계의 르네상스’를 건설하는데 있다. 두긴에게는 이것이 이 시대의 운명이고 사명이다. 이러한 비전 하에서 두긴은 서구세계를 감히 하나의 지역(a Province)으로 축소시킬 것을 제안한다. 그가 소속된 러시아가 ‘하나의 지역인 것’이라는 것은 두말할 것도 없다. 이렇게 각 로컬국가가 자신의 지역성을 기반으로 단극적 세계화의 대항극(Counter Pole)이 아닌 대안극(Alternative Pole)을 구상하며 실천하자는 것, 즉 ‘지역세계화’를 꾀해 각 로컬이 문화적 주권을 회복하고, 국가의 실잘적 주권을 회복할 것을 두긴은 자신의 철학적 목표로 삼고 있다. 일부에서는 그를 ‘극우적 파시스트’라며 그의 학문적 성과마저도 정치적 수사 정도로 치부하는 경향이 있다. 하지만 두긴의 유라시아 철학은 ‘러시아의 정체성의 본질’을 탐구하는 데 있으며, 지역세계회적 관점에서 볼 때 러시아 밖에서 제기되는 두긴에 대한 비판은 정당성이 약하다는 것이 본 연구의 핵심 주장이다.
A unipolar order of the world does not tolerate diversity. We can find its root from Eurocentrism which altered to ‘Americanism’ today, expanding to neo-liberal globalization: globe-localization. As a Russian-Heideggerian Alexander Dugin has been resisting this unipolar world order. He recommends that Russians, Chinese, Europeans, and Americans should be free from the economic colonialism of neoliberalism through a multipolar world order. Dugin's multipolar world order is the core concept of Eurasian philosophy. As he emphasized in his book The Fourth Political Theory, the philosophical idea that Dugin pursues ("Eurasian Road", "Eurasian Mission", "Multipolar Alliance", etc.) is focused on overcoming liberalism (capitalism), communism (Marxism), and nationalism (fascism) and ultimately building another "renaissance of the world" with various cultures. For Dugin, it is the destiny and mission of this age. This vision makes Dugin reduce the Western world into one region (a province). Dugin's philosophical goal states, for each place such as Russia to which he belongs, to seek "Glocalization" that is based on its locality. For him this approach prepares to have an alternative pole, not as a counter pole, of unipolar globalization. All states of locality can restore of their cultural sovereignty as real only when an alternative pole is prepared. Certain individuals dismiss him as a "far-right fascist" and his academic achievements as one of political rhetorics. However, Dugin's Eurasian philosophy explores the "essence of Russian identity." with criticisms that have been raised outside Russia.
