코로나19의 세계적 대유행은 정치, 사회, 경제, 전반에 큰 충격을 가져왔으며 문화예술 분야에도 심각한 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 이러한 위기상황이 문화예술분야에 가져온 변화를 검토하고, 문헌과 다양한 논의를 바탕으로 미술관이 직면하고 있는 현실과 구체적 대응방안을 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 포스트 코로나 시대 미술관의 사회적 역할과 의미를 짚어보고자 한다. 문화예술 분야는 관람객을 대상으로 실시간 현장감을 전제로 하기에 전시장 및 공연장 봉쇄와 거리두기는 예술가와 예술기관에 치명적인 위기를 가져왔다. 이를 극복하고 자 디지털 기술을 접목한 가상전시, 랜선공연, 라이브 스트리밍 서비스 등 온라인 콘텐츠를 확산하며 위기에 대응하고 있다. 비대면 활동이 늘어나면서 초연결성이라는 소통방식을 통해 관람객과 미술관의 관계, 미술관과 사회와의 관계가 확장됨에 따라 미술관의 사회적 역할과 방향성에 대한 논의가 증가하고 있다. 미술관은 개인과 사회에 정서적 위안과 힐링을 제공한다. 사회문제를 논의할 수 있는 공론의 장이며 미술관과 개인, 사회공동체, 기타 협력 기관과 단체들의 실천의 장이 되어야 한다. 공동체의 공감대를 형성하고 예술적 실천을 위해 미술관은 회복가능하면서 동시에 지속가능한 미래지향적 비전을 수립해야 한다. 기술적 효용성을 수용하면서 동시에 실천적 장소로서의 이중적 역할을 균형 있게 수행할 때 포스트코로나 시대를 맞이하는 미술관의 역할은 더욱 확장될 것이다.
The global pandemic of COVID-19 has had a great impact on politics, society, economy, and the overall field of culture and arts. This study aims to review the changes brought to the field of culture and arts in this crisis situation and to examine the reality and specific countermeasures facing the museum based on literature and various discussions. Through this, I would like to point out the social role and meaning of the museum in the post-COVID-19 era. The culture and arts field presupposes a real-time realism for visitors, so blocking and distancing exhibition halls and performance halls brought a fatal crisis to artists and art institutions. To overcome this situation, digital technology is applied to spread online contents such as virtual exhibitions, live performance and live streaming service to respond to crises. As non-face-to-face activities increase, discussions on the social role and direction of art museums are increasing as the relationship between visitors and art museums and society expands through hyper-connectivity communication methods. Art museums provide emotional comfort and healing to individuals and society. It should be a place of public debate where social issues can be discussed and a place of practice for art museums, individuals, social communities, and other cooperative organizations and organizations. In order to form a consensus in the community and artistc practice, art museums should establish the future-oriented vision that is both recoverable and sustainable. The role of art museums in the post-Corona era will be further expanded when they accept technical utility and at the same time play a dual role as a practical place in a balanced manner.
