본 논문은 현존하는 가장 오래된 필사본인 『채화정집』의 『매씨상서평』에서 최종본 『정본 여유당전서』 『매씨서평』으로의 형식과 내용 변화를 “「사」 50”에서 “「원사」 40”으로의 변화에 촛점을 맞추어 분석한 것이다. 이 분석을 위해 첫째로 다산이 해배 후 1819년에서 1827년 사이에 경기학자들과 주고받은 편지글들을 살펴보았다. 그 중에서도 특히 『매씨상서평』의 “「사」 50”과 관련된 내용에 집중했다. 경기학자들이 다산의 글을 읽으면서 공통적으로 지적한 것은 그의 거친 어조와 허구적인 글쓰기 방식이었다. 둘째로 “「사」 50”에서 “「원사」 40”로의 형식적 변화를 알아보기 위해 두 개의 도표를 작성했다. 마지막으로 두 번째 도표에 바탕해 글쓰기와 내용의 변화를 예를 들어가며 자세히 분석했다. 경기학자들의 지적에 따른 다산의 글쓰기의 변화를 통해서, 다산의 작가와 학자로서의 성격과 문체와 더불어 그의 생각의 깊이를 헤아려 볼 수 있다.

This article aims to analyse the change in form and content of the Critique of Mr. Mei’s Book of Documents from that of the Chaehwajeong Collection to that of the Official Edition of Yeoyudang Jeonseo. The focus of the change is from “「Sa」 50” to “「Wonsa」 40”. For this analysis, first, letters exchanged with Gyeonggi scholars between 1819 and 1827 after Tasan was released from his bannishment were examined. Among them, our focus was especially put on the content related to “「Sa」 50” of the Critique of Mr. Mei’s Book of Documents. What the Gyeonggi scholars shared in reading Tasan’s book was his harsh tone and fictional writing style. These data serve as the basis for the analysis in the third chapter. Second, the formal change from “「Sa」 50” to “「Wonsa」 40” was analysed with the help of two charts. Finally, based on the second chart of the two, the changes in literary style and content were analyzed in detail by examples. Through the changes in Tasan’s writing according to the remarks of Gyeonggi scholars, it is possible to estimate Tasan’s character and style as a writer and scholar, as well as the depth of his thought.
