본 연구의 목적은 형제개입을 통한 요리활동이 다운증후군 아동의 화용능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 있다. 연구대상은 다운증후군 아동 3명과 그들의 비장애 형제 3명이다. 요리활동 중재는 한 회기 당 50분으로 5가지 요리를 순차적으로 진행하였으며, 1회기에 실시한 요리 활동을 2회기에 한 번 더 실시하였다. 1회기는 연구자와 비장애 형제, 장애아동이 함께 하는 활동으로 진행하였으며, 2회기는 연구자와 장애아동이 1:1로 진행하여 실시하였다. 5가지의 요리가 2회기씩 모두 진행되면 다시 10회기를 반복하여 총 20회기를 실시하였다. 본 연구는 요리활동을 이용한 평가와 설문지를 이용한 평가로 나누어지며 사전·사후검사를 실시하여 평가하였다. 요리활동을 이용한 평가는 요리활동 과정에서의 형제간 의사소통 빈도와 형제간 의사소통 행동의 변화, 그리고 형제간 의사소통 기능의 변화를 평가하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 형제개입 요리활동은 다운증후군 아동의 의사소통 빈도에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 형제개입 요리활동은 다운증후군 아동의 의사소통 행동의 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 형제개입 요리활동은 다운증후군 아동의 의사소통 기능에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 넷째, 형제개입 요리활동은 가족의 의사소통 태도 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 이상과 같은 결과를 바탕으로 형제개입 요리활동 중재는 다운증후군 아동의 화용능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of brother intervention through cooking activities on the pragmatic competence of a children with Down Syndrome. The subjects of the study were three children with Down Syndrome and their three non-disabled brothers. The assessment of the study was divided into two ways, the evaluation of cooking and questionnaire, which were conducted with before and after testing. The cooking evaluation involved the frequency of brotherhood interaction, the change of brothers' interactive behaviors, and the change of conversational functions between brothers. The results of the study are as follows: First, brother intervention through cooking activities has a positive impact on the frequency of communication of a child with Down Syndrome. Second, brother intervention through cooking activities has a positive effect on the change of communicative behaviors of a child with Down Syndrome. Third, brother intervention through cooking activities has a positive influence on the conversational function of a child with Down Syndrome. Fourth, brother intervention through cooking activities affects the change of communicative attitude of the family members of a child with Down Syndrome in a positive way. Based on the findings above, it is concluded that brother intervention through cooking activities has a positive effect upon the frequency of communication, the change of communicative behaviors, and the improvements of communicative functions of a child with Down Syndrome, and the change of communicative attitude of the family members of a child with Down Syndrome.
