본 연구는 4차 산업혁명시대에 중심 기술인 AI 기술이 발전함에 따라 사회적으로 AI 역량이 요구되며 AI 역량에는 AI 윤리 원칙도 포함되고 있음을 논의하고 있다. AI 기술의 발달과 함께 세계 각국에서 AI 역량을 기르기 위한 교육과정이 다양하게 도입되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 각국에서 생각하는 AI 역량이 무엇인지와 AI 역량과 함께 만들어지고 있는 AI 윤리 원칙이 어떤 형태로 세워지고 있는지를 분석하였다. 세계 각국에서 AI 교육과정은 크게 2가지 영역으로 현장에 도입되고 있다. 첫 번째는 뛰어난 AI 기술자를 만들기 위한 역량이고 두 번째는 AI를 활용하는 사람을 위한 역량, 즉 AI가 사회에 미치는 영향, 윤리적 문제 등 AI를 활용하는 데 필요한 역량이다. 그중에서 우리나라와 중국은 AI 기술자를 만들기 위한 역량에만 교육과정이 집중되어 있어 AI를 활용하는 역량과 AI 윤리에 관한 논의의 교육적 도입이 필요함을 주장하였다. 또한 교육과정에 AI 윤리 원칙을 도입할 때 사회 현실에 부합하는 구체적인 내용이 포함되어야 한다는 관점에서 2021년 12월에 우리나라에서 만든 AI 원칙을 우리나라 교육과정에 도입해야 한다고 주장하였다. 나아가 그 구체화를 위하여 우리나라의 사람이 중심이 되는 인공지능(AI) 윤리기준의 3개의 원칙과 10가지 핵심 요소를 분석하여 교육과정에 적용할 수 있는 3가지 역량 요소를 정의하고 교육과정의 예시를 구안하였다. 본고의 논의는 추후 학교 현장에 AI 윤리 교육과정을 도입할 때 기초 연구로서 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study discusses AI competencies including AI ethics principles, which are required for the development of AI technology, in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. As AI technology develops, various curricula of countries around the world are adopting it. This study analyzed AI capabilities and the forms of AI ethics principles being established along with those capabilities in each country. In many countries around the world, the AI curriculum is being introduced in two areas. The first is the capability to create excellent AI engineers, and the second addresses the capability of people who utilize AI, with regard to the impact of AI on society and AI’s ethical issues. Among them, the curricula of Korea and China are concentrated only on the ability to create AI engineers. This study makes the argument that it is necessary to introduce educational discussions on AI ethics and the capabilities to utilize AI. It also suggests that AI principles created in Korea in December 2021 should be adopted into the Korean curriculum, given the need to include the social context when developing a curriculum. Furthermore, this study defined three capability factors and provides an example of a curriculum based on the analysis of three principles and 10 key elements of AI ethical standards. It is expected to contribute to basic research when introducing an AI ethics curriculum into school subjects in the future.
