본 연구는 청소년이 자신의 적성에 맞는 진로를 선택하는지, 부모님이 자녀의 진로선택을 지지하는지, 부모님이 진로선택을 반대하는 갈등상황에서 청소년이 갈등위기를 극복하려는 의지가 있는지에 따라 진로를 향해 나아가는 데 방향과 힘을 제공하는 중요한 심리적 학업성취동기요인들이 어떻게 달라지는지 확인하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 적성과 진로선택이 일치하는 청소년은 숙달접근목표지향성이 높게 나타났고 학습몰입 정도도 높게 나타났다. 또한 부모님이 자녀의 진로선택을 지지하는 경우에는 숙달접근목표지향성과 수행접근목표지향성이 높게 나타났고 학습몰입도 높게 나타났다. 부모님과 진로선택이 불일치하더라도 자신의 진로선택을 유지 및 도전하고자 하는 청소년들도 숙달접근목표지향성과 학습몰입 정도가 높게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 청소년의 진로선택 교육 및 상담 시 청소년의 적성에 기초한 진로선택 뿐만 아니라, 부모가 자녀의 적성을 이해하고 적성에 기초한 진로선택을 하도록 지지해줄 수 있도록 부모의 참여와 교육이 병행된 진로지도가 필요함을 시사하고 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in the psychological academic achievement motivation which drives powers and directions toward careers via making a career choice based on the knowledge of self-aptitude, having a support from his/her parents about the career choice, and having a will to overcome the career barriers against his/her parents. Data for this study were 286 high school students and Hotelling's T2 was used to test for significant differences. The results from the Hotelling's T2 indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between groups (students making versus students no making career choices based on the knowledge of self-aptitude) for mastery-approach goal orientation and learning flow. Similar pattern was also seen in students who have the support from their parents about the career choices. In addition, students who have the will to overcome the career barriers against their parents tend to have a higher mastery-approach goal and learning flow compared to students who have not.
