휘종은 제왕의 사에 대한 긍정적인 인식이 사의 발전에 어떠한 영향력을 미치는지 가장 명확히 방증한 제왕이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 휘종사에 대한 전문연구를 찾아보기 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구는 송사의 극성기를 이끈 제왕인 휘종의 사를 연구대상으로 하여, 각 작품의 작사 배경을 분석해 휘종사의 작사 특질을 고찰하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 우선 휘종이나 휘종사에 대해 기록하고 있는 사료에 대한 분석을 진행하였다. 그 결과 작사 배경은 크게 원소절의 궁중연회와 망국이후 금에 포로로 압송되는 과정으로 양분할 수 있다. 작사 시기는 주로 선화연간에 집중되어있으며, 작사 배경에 대한 분석 결과 휘종사는 여타의 제왕사와 달리 사의 유희성과 서정성을 모두 구현하였다. 이러한 휘종사의 특질은 휘종에 대한 ‘이미 사인으로서 손색이 없었다’라는 평가에 대한 방증이라고 할 수 있다. 향후 본 연구는 제왕사에 대한 비교 분석연구를 진행하는데 하나의 기준으로 활용하고자 한다.

Hui Zong proved most clearly how the emperor’s positive perception of Ci has any influence on the development of Ci. However, it is difficult to find specialized research on Hui Zong Ci in Korea. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of Hui Zong Ci by analyzing the lyrics background of each work, targeting the dynasty of Hui Zong, the king who led the golden age of Song Ci. For this purpose, first of all, an analysis of the historical records recording Hui Zong and Hui Zong Ci was conducted. As a result, the background of the lyrics can be largely divided into the palace banquet at the Lantern Festival and the process of being sent as a prisoner to the Jin Dynasty after his national ruin. The time of writing the lyrics is mainly concentrated in the Xuanhe year, and according to the analysis of the lyrics background, Hui Zong Ci realized both the playfulness and lyricism of Ci, unlike other Emperors’ Ci. These characteristics of Hui Zong Ci are evidence of evaluation of Hui Zong, saying that ‘he was already qualified as a Ci poet’. In the future, this study will be used as a standard in conducting comparative analysis studies on the Emperors’ Ci.
