본고는 현재까지 보고된 『계서잡록』의 이본 목록을 제시하고 주요 이본의 대비를 수행한 것이다.
『계서잡록』의 이본 가운데 완질로 존재하는 일사본을 중심으로 성대본, 익선재본, 한산이씨본, 이희평본을 비교한 결과, 권1의 경우 성대본과 일사본은 서로 다른 계열의 이본으로 판단되었다. 권2의 경우 익선재본과 일사본이, 권3의 경우 이희평본과 일사본이 친연성을 보였다. 그러나 일사본은 익선재본, 이희평본과 다른 계열의 모본을 지니고 있었을 가능성도 확인할 수 있었다.
다음으로 『계서잡록』의 善本은 권1 성대본, 권2 익선재본(亨), 권3 이희평본, 권4 일사본이라는 결론에 도달할 수 있었다. 권1은 이본간 편차가 크지 않지만 성대본이 보다 원본에 가까운 것으로 추정되며, 익선재본(亨)은 비록 오류가 많지만 모든 이야기를 다수록하고 있다는 점에서 善本으로 선정할 수 있다. 권3은 기존에 善本으로 알려진 익선재본(利) 대신 이희평본을, 권4는 일사본을 善本으로 삼을 수 있다. 그러나 완질인 일사본과의 대교를 통해 번역과 연구를 위한 1차 자료를 만들 필요가 있다.
발췌본의 경우에는 정치적이거나 당파적 성향이 두드러지는 이야기, 짧은 인물 일화는 배제되고, 서사적으로 흥미를 끌 수 있는 이야기가 주로 수록되는 양상을 보였다. 이는 『계서잡록』이 잡록적 성격을 지닌 원형에서부터 서사성을 띤 야담집으로 향유되는 과정을 보여주는 사례라 하겠다.

As a result of comparing the version of Ikseonjae, Hansan Yissi, and Lee Heepyeong, focusing on the Ilsa version that exists in complete quality among the copies of the GyeseoJaprok, the Ilsa version showed affinity. However, it was also possible to confirm the possibility that the Ilsa version had a model of another series from the Ikseonjae and Lee Hee-pyeong version.
Next, we can come to the conclusion that the GyeseoJaprok should be composed as follows and used as the script for translation and research: Sungkyunkwan university copies for volume1, IkSeonJae (亨) for volume2, the version of Lee Hee Pyeong for volume3, the version of Ilsa for volume4. Sungkyunkwan university copies is presumed to be closer to the original text, although there is not much variation between the Sungkyunkwan university copies and the Ilsa version. Volume 3 can use the version of Lee Hee-pyeong instead of Ikseonjae(利), previously known as best copies, and Book 4 can use Ilsa version.
In the case of the excerpts, stories with prominent political or partisan tendencies and short stories focused on a character were excluded, and stories that could be of interest in a narrative manner were mainly included. This is a script that shows the transition of GyeseoJaprok from miscellany to yadam.
