The purpose of this study was to examine the Kolb's learning style and preference for instructional methods of undergraduate nursing students, as well as the relationship between them.
Method: The research design was the descriptive study and the convenient sampling was used and 123 nursing students were selected. The Kolb Learning Style Inventory(LSI) and the preference scale for instructional methods were used in collecting data.
Result: Learning style ratio of nursing students was assimilator 35.8%, accomodator 32.5%, diverger 18.7%, converger 13.0% and preference scores for instructional methods were lecture 5.70, PBL 4.76, simulation 6.54. Also, among 4 learning styles, accomodator prefered simulation to assimilator do.
Conclusion: The findings indicate that the assessment of nursing students' learning styles categorized based on Kolb LSI is expected to help educator to plan teaching strategies and incorporate a variety of teaching methods that benefits all types of learners.
