The purpose of this study was to develop the general education curriculum for Korean students studying at a college in Incheon. Before the study was conducted, the students had been taking general elective courses offered by their departments. The courses were limited in terms of number. Since each department of the college offered a few general elective courses for the students who belonged to the department, the students did not have many options to choose from. Therefore, to provide various elective courses which would be practical as well as interesting, a number of foundational works were conducted such as student need assessment, questionnaire for the professors, and case studies on general education of other colleges. Based on the results of preliminary investigation, various general education courses were selected and offered to the students The particular class hours of particular days of week were designated exclusively for general elective courses to ensure that the students could take whatever courses they wanted.
