이 논문은 조선 후기 학자의 『史記』 「貨殖列傳」 주석서를 조사하고 발굴하여 분석하였다. 특히 『貨殖傳註解』와 『古今集註新校貨殖傳』 2종의 주석서를 발굴하여 분석하고서 다음과 같은 사실을 새롭게 밝혔다. 18세기 이후 단행본으로 유통된 「화식열전」의 주석서는 몇 종에 이른다. 그중 『經史註解』의 일부인 『화식전주해』와 鄭亮欽이 편찬한 『고금집주신교화식전』이 단행본으로 편찬되어 다수 필사되었다. 이밖에도 漢陰이란 호를 가진 학자의 주석서가 있었고, 1796년에 正祖의 명에 따라 金履喬와 洪奭周 등이 『史記選纂注』를 1차 완성하였고, 1798년에 丁若鏞이 번다한 주석을 刪正하여 개정하였다. 2종의 단행본 주석서는 기왕에 널리 이용된 주석서와는 전혀 다른 내용과 특징을 지녔다. 修辭學的 관점에서 텍스트를 이해하여 단락을 구분하고 문장의 서술구조와 문리와 문맥을 중시하여 창의적 주석을 단 참신한 주석서였다. 또 널리 활용되던 三家注나 『史記評林』의 주석을 참조는 하되 독창적 주석을 달았고, 새로운 해석을 많이 하였다. 2종의 주석서는 「화식열전」을 정확하고 흥미롭게 읽는 데 기여한 저술로서 동아시아 학계의 『사기』와 「화식열전」 주석사에서 주목할 만한 가치가 있다.

This paper uncovered and analyzed commentaries on Shiji Huozhiliezhuan that were written by scholars during the late Chosŏn dynasty. This paper newly presented and examined two volumes -Hwasikjeonjuhae and Gogeumjipjushingyohwasikjeon- to discover the following findings. There are several commentaries on Huozhiliezhuan, which was published as a single volume after the eighteenth century. Among such commentaries, Hwasikjeonjuhae, a part of Gyeongsajuhae, and Gogeumjipjushingyohwasikjeon, which was a book compiled by Jeong Yang-heum, were published and transcribed many times. Other notable commentaries included a book written by a scholar who used Haneum as his penname, the first edition of Sagiseonchanju, written by Kim Yi-gyo and Hong Seok-ju under King Jeongjo's order in 1796, and a revised compilation of multiple commentaries completed by Jeong Yakyong in 1798. The two commentaries examined in this paper dramatically differed from the other popular commentaries in their content and characteristics. The two commentaries examined the text rhetorically by separating the paragraphs and added original footnotes by focusing on the narrative structures, connotations, and context of the sentences. While there were references to the popular Sanjiazhu and Shijipinglin in the books, the two commentaries also included original annotations and new interpretations. The two commentaries stand out in the history of commentaries on Huozhiliezhuan as companions that contributed to a more accurate and fascinating understanding of Huozhiliezhuan.
