Philosophical Cafes in Israel

This article presents the activities known as “Philosophical Cafes” in Israel on the background of the social and historical information about cafes, coffee and philosophy in public gatherings. It explains the relative lack of popularity of philosophical cafes in this country and thereby it enlightens some of the challenges this philosophic practice encounters everywhere. It concludes with outlining the commonalities of public discussions of philosophy while explaining its necessarily divergent means.
