This study will explore and highlight the health and mental health needs for immigrants living in Ansan City. Approximately 7% to 9% of the population of Ansan City are foreign born individuals, which is significant when compared to other areas of South Korea. The City has the "most advanced and liberal multicultural policies" in the country; however, not much is known about the health and mental health needs of the foreign - born population in Ansan. Thus we plan to conduct a needs assessment using amixed methods research design to determine (1) what the needs are for the foreignborn population in Ansan and (2) how well services are addressing these needs. Data collection will include quantitative surveys and individual interviews with residents of and service providers in Ansan City. Since the Alien Resident Center and Migrant Community Service Center are key government - supported agencies that provide information and connections for immigrants living in this area, we plan to work with these entities to conduct the needs assessment that will be community - partner informed and can be used to augment health and mental healthservices for these groups.
