‘Leichte Sprache’(easy language) is a specially designed form of language for people who have learning difficulties. In this study I have analysed the guidelines on Leichte Sprache developed by German researchers, and tried to apply them to rewriting Korean language texts in Leichte Sprache. I have also suggested that the macrorules of van Dijk and the design creteria of Robert de Beaugrande can be applied to develop the writing strategies of Leichte Sprache. Some public notices as well as newspaper articles in ordinary Korean language have been successfully rewritten in Leichte Sprache according to the guidelines and strategies which I have developed and newly suggested in this study.
