본 연구는 4차 산업혁명의 주요 테크놀로지의 하나인 소형 인쇄기기 3D 펜과 필라멘트를 교차 및 복합 사용하여 한국의 전통 이미지와 인체의 미를 조화시킨 창작의상 디자인을 개발하고자 하였다. 연구 내용은 3D 펜과 연관된 문헌과 관련 전문 업체 웹사이트 조사 등을 통하여 3D 펜과 필라멘트를 온도별로 구분하고, 그 특징을 살펴보았다. 고온용과 저온용 3D 펜으로 PLA와 PCL 필라멘트를 각각 압출했을 때와 3D 펜과 필라멘트를 교차하여 고온용 펜에 저온용 필라멘트인 PCL을 압출 시 나타나는 필라멘트의 시각적 특징과 인장강신도 측정을 통한 물리적 특성을 파악하였다. 3D 펜으로 제작한 현대패션 사례분석은 2019년 12월부터 2020년 3월까지 총 452점의 자료 사진을 수집하였으며 가시적 효과가 두드러지는 디자인적 측면을 상위에 두고 선별하여 제작 방법, 표현 기법 그리고 시각적 효과 등을 살펴보았다. 작품 제작은 뷔스티에 2점과 민소매 상의 1점 그리고 스커트 1점으로 총 4점으로, 추사(秋史) 김정희(金正喜)의 「천축고선생댁(天竺古先生宅)」 탁본을 3D 펜으로 인쇄하여 디자인 포인트로 응용하였다. 질감 느낌의 평면조직을 만들어 디자인한 의상을 제작하고, 그 위에 고온용 펜과 PCL의 교차 사용을 통한 음영 그러데이션을 표현함으로써 인체의 볼륨감을 시각적 입체감으로 표현하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 이전까지 시도되지 않았던 3D 펜과 필라멘트의 교차사용을 활용한 융합적 표현기법을 개발함으로써 좀 더 얇고 유연한 3D 프린팅 의상을 제작할 수 있었으며 시각적 입체감 효과 창출과 함께 물리적 특성도 강화할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 의의는 3D 펜과 필라멘트의 창의적 활용을 통하여 테크놀로지와 수공예의 융합적 감성으로 한국의 전통과 인체의 미를 의상에 접목시켜 새로운 조형미로 표현하고자 하였다는 점에 있으며 또한, 3D 펜을 현대패션 디자인 개발에 더욱 확대하여 활용할 수 있는 하나의 방법을 제시하였다는 점에서 찾아볼 수 있다.
The purpose of this study was to develop a creative clothing design that harmonizes the traditional Korean image with the beauty of the human body by the cross and combined using 3D pen and filament, a small 3D printing machine, which is one of the major technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The contents of the study were divided into 3D pens and filaments by temperature and the characteristics of the 3D pens and filaments were examined by reviewing related literature and website surveys of the specialized companies. The visual features and physical properties of the extruded filaments through the tensile strength measurement were also grasped with the PLA and PCL extruded with the high and low-temperature 3D pen respectively and also the PCL extruded with a high-temperature 3D pen. A total of 452 pictures were collected from December 2019 to March 2020 for the case analysis of contemporary 3D pen printing fashion and representative pictures were selected with the design aspect prominent in the visual effect at the top. And then the production method, ways of expression, and visual effects were analyzed. As to the creation of clothing, the Chusa Kim Jung-hee's calligraphy, "Cheonchookosunseongdeck“ was 3D printed and applied as a design point, and then clothing was created with the 3D printed flat structures with texture. On top of that, a high-temperature 3D pen and PCL are used to make a shaded gradation, thereby expressing the volume of the human body as a visual and three-dimensional effect. A total of 4 creative clothing in total with 2 bustiers, 1 sleeveless top, and 1 skirt were created. Through this study, it was possible to develop convergent expression technique through the cross and combinational use of 3D pen and filament that has not been tried before and to create thinner and more flexible 3D printing clothing and three-dimensional effect as well. The significance of this study is that it is intended to express a new formal beauty by grafting Korean tradition and the beauty of the human body into clothing based on the convergence of technology and handicraft through the creative use of 3D pen and filament. It can be also found in that it suggested a 3D pen can be further expanded and utilized in contemporary fashion design development.
