영화 「기생충」은 극과 극으로 나뉜 계층문제를 냄새라는 상징으로 관객에게 가시화해서 보여준다. 본 논문의 연구목적은 영화 「기생충」에 나타난 냄새라는 상징을 타자에 대한 혐오로 해석하여 논의하고자 하는 것에 있다. 타자에 대한 혐오를 나타내는 냄새의 근원과 가시성을 사회적 계급간의 차이로 논의 한 후에, 작품의 결과에 의미를 부여할 것이다. 작품 속에서 반복되어 표현되는 냄새의 계층의 차이가 드러나기 위해서는 냄새의 가시화가 필요하다. 작품 속의 냄새는 계단이라는 도구를 통해 장면의 공간성과 연결되어 가시화 되고 있다. 타자에 대한 혐오를 벗어나기 위해서는 타인의 삶에 감정적으로 참여하기 위한 노력을 해야 하며, 그 시작점은 타자에 대한 인정이 될 것이다.

In Parasite, the problems of class divided into poles are visualized and shown to the audience as a symbol of smell. The purpose of this study is to interpret and discuss the symbol of smell in the film Parasite as aversion to others. After discussing the source and visibility of the smell, which shows aversion to others, as a difference between social classes, the ending of the film will be given meaning. In order to reveal hierarchical difference that is repeatedly expressed in the work, it is necessary to visualize smell. The smell in the work is visualized in connection with the spatiality of the scene through a tool, stairs. To break free from aversion to others, we must have efforts to emotionally participate in the lives of others. Recognition of others will be the starting point.
