1971年、日活は、ロマンポルノという成人映画路線を開き、60年代のテレビの流行以来低迷していた日本の映画産業を支えた。近年、戦後の映画製作や映画産業を多角的に考察するために、日本映画史におけるロマンポルノの重要性を再評価する動きが出てきている。本論文では、戦後の文化的ㆍ政治的文脈を検討する上に見逃してはいけない「ワイセツ」論争を端緒に、その論争に関わったロマンポルノの歴史性かつ社会性を考察する。 製作における独自性の点から考えても、当時の「ワイセツ」論争における製作者の重要性の点から考えても、映画作家の神代辰巳を無視するわけにはいかない。神代の作家性を検討する文章がこれまでに数多く残されてきたとはいえ、その作家性がいかに70年代の社会的文脈と関係しているかについては考慮されていない。本論文では、この問題を検討することにより、神代が「ワイセツ」論争に独特な形で関わっていたことを考察し、従来の研究に一石を投じる。 神代映画と1970年代「ワイセツ」論争との関わりを解明するために、論争への批判を示した『一条さゆり――濡れた欲情』（1972年）を分析する。神代は、本作で父権的な「ワイセツ」論争に批判的な思考を促している。さらに、本作は独自の視聴覚表現を通して、脱父権的な性的労働の可能性を示している。以上の分析により、ジェンダー学の視点からロマンポルノの独自性を読み直す。

The 1960s brought with it the rapid development of the television industry and plunged the Japanese film industry into an economic crisis. However, in 1971, Japanese film company Nikkatsu opened a circuit for adult movies called “Roman Porno,” a move that effectively saved film from the crisis. In recent years, a popular trend has emerged that reevaluates the significance of the Roman Porno genre of films in the context of Japanese film history, considering the diverse workings of postwar film production and industry. In order to discuss the historical and social context of Roman Porn in the postwar period, I will first rethink the connection between the controversy of obscenity and Roman Porno films. Tatsumi Kumashiro is the most crucial director to the genre of Nikkatsu Roman Porno, for not just his unique, auteuristic style of filmmaking but also for the role he played in the obscenity controversy. Despite the many critical essays published until now that have emphasized his status as an auteur, few consider Kumashiro’s filmmaking style alongside the social context of the 1970s. In this paper, I attempt to fill this gap in scholarship and seek to rethink Kumashiro’s auteurism, investigating his position in the obscenity controversy. To consider Kumashiro’s films in the context of 1970s, I analyze how the film Ichijo’s Wet Lust (Tatsumi Kumashiro, 1972), which revolves around the arrest and trial of the widely known stripper Sayuri Ichijo, reflected Kumashiro’s critical stance on the obscenity controversy. I argue that Kumashiro criticized the patriarchal views that were at the root of the obscenity controversy. Moreover, Ichijo’s Wet Lust also shows a patriarchal stance to sexuality through Kumashiro’s audio-visual expression. Through this analysis, I reexamine the significance of Roman Porno through the perspective of gender studies.
