낙태의 윤리에서 의무 윤리의 두 관점은 어느 한 쪽의 승리를 선언할 수 없다. 즉, 낙태의 허용과 금지를 확정할 능력조차 없다. II장에서 보수주의와 진보주의의 각각 입장을 설명한다. III장에서는 각 입장들의 문제점과 이들의 교착 상태를 4가지 형태로 재분류하였다. IV장에서는 각 입장이 교착상태에 빠지게 되는 이유를 살펴보았다. 보수주의와 진보주의는 각각 어려움에 처해 있으며, 서로 교착 상태에 놓여있기 때문에, 어느 한 쪽이 특별히 우세나 열등하다는 판단도 불가능하다. 이것은 의무 윤리가 낙태 문제에 적합한 이론이 되기에는 미숙하다는 것을 보여준다.

Conservatives and liberalism present their reasonable grounds for opposition or approval of abortion, However, they are running in a tight parallel line. Therefore, they seem unlikely that one side's victory over other side will be decided. Here, we will see that the Rights theory as a core theory of Duty Ethics, that is, conservatives and liberalism present only the extreme views, so, they seem no longer to be helpful in explaining the ethics of abortion. Then I will argue that the Rights theory has no ability to decide whether to allow or ban abortion. To show that this theory is not capable of determining the permission or prohibition of abortion, it is necessary to first explain the stalemate of the extreme positions of Rights theory, called the stalemate of conservatives and liberalism. And we must discuss the difficulties of each positions of rights theory This discussion will reveal that conservatives and liberalism are in stalemate, and that neither sides is particularly dominant or inferior because they are faced with each other's difficulties. As a result, it will be found that conservatism and liberalism do not provide a realistic solution of morality of abortion.
