이 연구의 목적은 김춘수 시 「꽃」을 인지시학과 기호학을 접목해서 고찰하는데 있다. 그 구체적인 방법은 텍스트에 나타난 언어 인지기호의 특성을 살펴보고, 인지구조와 나아가 인지지향의 양상을 그레마스 사각기호를 적용해서 의미생성행로와 인지체계를 도출하는 것이다. 이러한 과정은 기호를 적용한 인지적 맥락으로 텍스트를 분석하는 하나의 방법이 된다. 텍스트의 언어 인지기호는 긍정과 상승을 나타내는 의소의 분포가 부각되어 있다. 긍정적이고 상승적인 인지의미를 강화하는 인지기호가 텍스트 표층에 분포되어 있다는 점이 텍스트 언어 분포도에 드러난다. 분포도에 나타난 핵심 의소 언어 인지기호의 순차적인 의미구조가 선형의 형상을 보이며 의미를 사상하고 있다. 그 언어는 ‘이름을 불러주어 꽃이 되었고, 이름을 불러다오 꽃이 되고 싶다’의 언술 양상에 인지기호화되어 있다. 양항대립의 양상을 드러내는 텍스트의 인지구조는 의미생성행로의 심층과 표층, 나아가 담화서술구조를 선명하게 표상하고 있다. 의미생성행로는 그레마스 사각기호로 도식화하여 양항대립의 다층적인 인지구조를 드러낸다. 김춘수 「꽃」은 핵심 의소 ‘꽃’에 대한 인식의 행로를 양항대립의 표층 의미에 의해 대립과 모순 그리고 함의 관계를 갖는 의미서술의 인지적 기제를 바탕으로 해서 인지구조를 구축하고 있다. 그 인지구조는 ‘이름을 불러주지 않았을 때 몸짓이었고, 이름을 불러주었을 때 꽃이 되었다. 이름이 불려 꽃이 되고 싶고, 이름이 불려 눈짓이 되고 싶다’의 서술구조로 드러난다. 텍스트에서 도출된 의지 점층의 인지지향은 각 연에서 드러난 사각기호의 합체로 도식화되어 인지주체의 의지가 점층되는 구조를 나타내며, 존재에 대해 인식하고자 하는 의지를 강화해서 표상하고 있다. 사각기호로 도출된 인지지향의 구조는 텍스트 의미생성행로의 과정을 종합해서 인지체계를 구상화하고 있다. 이러한 의미생성행로는 김춘수 「꽃」에서 표상하고자 하는 존재인식에 대한 의미작용을 선명하게 드러내는 작용을 한다. 텍스트에 드러난 ‘나’와 ‘그’는 인지주체 행위자에서 인지대상 피영향자로 상호전도되는 인지상황에서 서로를 인식하고 있다.

This study aims at considering 「Flower」 of Chun Su Kim by grafting semiotics and cognitive poetics. Its specified method is to look into characteristics of language cognitive symbol represented in the text and cognitive structure, and further deduce meaning generation path and cognitive system by applying Greimas semiotic square to the cognition-oriented aspect. Such process becomes a method of analyzing text in the context of cognition to which the symbol is applied. In the language cognitive symbol of the tex, distribution of sememe which indicates affirmation and enhancement is highlighted. The point that cognitive symbol of strengthening affirmative, enhancing cognitive meaning is distributed to the surface of the text is divulged in language distribution map of the text. Sequential semantics of core sememe language cognitive symbol shown at the distribution map are demonstrating the meaning while displaying a linear shape. The language was symbolized cognitively by the aspect of statement like ‘It becomes flower by naming, and please call its name so as to be flower eagerly.’ The cognitive structure of the text divulging binarism aspect is showing depth, surface, and further discoursive narrative structure distinctly. The meaning generating path discloses multi-layered cognitive structure of binarism by illustrating with Greimas semiotic square. The cognitive structure is built based on cognitive mechanism of descriptive meaning that has confrontation, contradiction, and inclusion relationships by surface meaning of binarism regarding cognitive path on ‘flower’ which is the core sememe of Chun Su Kim’s 「Flower」. Its cognitive structure is revealed as descriptive structure such like ‘It was a gesture when the name was not called, and became flower when its name was called. Becoming flower is desired by the name’s calling, and a wink is expected indeed after the name is called.‘ The cognitive orientation of will gradation deduced from the text shows the structure in which will of cognitive subject becomes gradation after being illustrated to union of semiotic square having been divulged in each verse, and will of trying to recognize existence is demonstrated after strengthening it. The structure of cognitive orientation deduced with semiotic square is being represented by synthesizing the process of meaning generation path in the text. Such meaning operation path does roles of clearly revealing meaning operation on consciousness of existence which intended to be expressed in 「Flower」 of Chun Su Kim. ‘I’ and ‘He’ appeared in the text are recognizing each other at the cognitive circumstance in which the cognitive subject performer is mutually reversed to the affected party of cognitive object.
