본 연구의 목적은 초등사회과 지리영역의 핵심 개념인 지역 개념 중 지역성 개념을 포스트모던으로의 패러다임 전환에 따라 본질론적 지역관에서 관계론적 지역관으로 규명하는 것이다. 그리고 연구자는 부산시 해운대를 사례로 빅데이터를 수집, 분석하여 본질론적 지역관과 관계론적 지역관에 입각하여 복잡성 지역의 지역성을 규명하고, 그것을 교육적으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 빅데이터 분석결과에 따르면, 단일 스케일의 네트워크적 영역성은 본질론적 지역관에 의한 지역성 규명에, 다중 스케일의 네트워크적 영역성은 관계론적 지역관에 의한 지역성규명에 적절하였다. 단일 및 다중스케일의 네트워크적 영역성 규명은 초등학교 3, 4학년의 지역 및 지역화 학습을 용이하게 해 줄 뿐만 아니라 현장 교사들이 공간확대원리를 탄력적으로 적용할 수 있도록 사례지역 및 주제를 제공해줄 수 있다. 나아가 이것은 지역 및 지역화학습관련 시대에 맞는 개념과 방법제공, 기존 교과서의 한계, 교수·학습자료 및 자료개발의 어려움을 극복해준다. 현장교사들의 지역화 학습관련 사회과교육에서 추구하는 지역화 학습의 본질적 정신인 방법의 지역화를 통한 사고력과 내용의 지역화를 통한 향토애 함양을 통해 사회과 시민자질 육성에 기여하며, 사회과 수업의 전문성을 신장시켜줄 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the concept of regionality from the intrinsic regional view to the relational regional view according to the paradigm shift to the postmodern. Busan Haeundae was chosen as the area of case study. By collecting and analyzing big data about Haeundae, the researcher sought ways to identify and educate regionality of complex region in the intrinsic and relational regional views. According to the analysis results, the networked territoriality of a single scale is appropriate for identifying the regionality by the intrinsic regional view, and the multi-scale networked territoriality is appropriate for identifying the regionality by the relational regional view. the identification of single and multi-scale networked territoriality not only facilitates region and regional learning in grades 3 and 4 of elementary school, but also helps to provide cases of region and its theme for field teachers to flexibly apply the principle of expansion.
