이 논문은 임벽당 김씨(1492-1549)의 생애와 그의 시문학에 관한 연구이다. 임벽당 김씨와 그의 부군인 유여주의 생몰연대가 부정확한 것을 바로잡아 임벽당 김씨의 생몰연도는 1492-1549년이고 유여주의 생몰연도는 1480-1545년으로 확정하였다. 또한 그동안 잘못 알려진 임벽당 김씨 소생 자녀(2남:유위, 유신)와 유여주의 현량과 합격 나이, 유여림과 유여주의 관계를 새롭게 규명하였다.
다음으로 임벽당 김씨의 작품의 제명과 작품 수 및 수록된 문헌을 고찰하였다. 그리하여 그동안 임벽당 김씨의 작품으로 잘못 알려진 것을 새롭게 수정하였다. 임벽당 김씨의 작품은 오명제의 『조선시선』, 남방위의 『조선시선전집』, 전겸익의 『열조시집』, 주이존의 『명시종』, 강희제의 명으로 편찬한 『어선명시』 등 5개의 중국 시선집에 수록되어 있는데, 그 가운데 임벽당 김씨의 작품은 「별증」, 「빈녀음」, 「고객사」 등 3수이며 임벽당 김씨의 작품이라 하여 수록된 여타의 작품은 임벽당 김씨의 작품이 아님을 규명하였다. 우리나라에서 간행한 시선집으로는 허균의 『국조시산』에 「증인」, 장지연의 『대동시선』에 「빈녀음」과 「증별」 2수가 수록되어 있으며, 『임벽당유고』에 7수, 『기계문헌』권2 「임벽당의성김씨 습유록」에는 9수가 수록되어 있는데, 『임벽당칠수고』 및 『기계문헌』 「습유록」에 수록되어 있는 작품 중에 「빈녀음」, 「고객사」, 「양류사」는 임벽당 김씨의 작품이 아니며, 임벽당 김씨의 작품은 「제임벽당」 (침각시)2수, 「증질자」, 「증별종손」 (「빈녀음」), 「별증」의 4수임도 아울러 규명하였다.
임벽당 김씨의 시세계를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 그의 시는 성률이 화평하고 그 지취가 그윽하고 한가로우며 세속의 티끌을 벗어나 소요 자적하는 맑은 기운, 즉 무위 청정의 평온한 심경을 보여 준다. 즉 임벽당 김씨는 이러한 삶과 심경을 시로 표출함으로써 이른바 시를 통하여 성정의 바름을 터득했다고 할 수 있다.
and her poetry. Kim and her husband, Yu Yeo-ju’s date of birth and death is not clear but this paper clarifies that Imbyeokdang Kim had lived from 1492 to 1549 and Yu Yeo-ju from 1480 to 1545. And it shows that Imbyeokdang Kim had two sons (Yuyu and Yushin). It also newly identifies the Relationship between Yu Yeo-ju and Yu Yeo-rim and Yu Yu-ju's Age of passing official exam, which has been wrongly known.

However, < binnyeoeum >(빈녀음), < gogaeksa >(고객사), < yanglyusa >(양류사) are not Imbyeokdang Kim’s. Her works are < jeimbyeokdang >(제임벽당)(chimaksi)(침각시)2su, < jeungjilja > (증질자), < Jeungbyeoljongson > (증별종손) (binnyeoeum), < byeoljeung >(별증).

Imbyeokdang Kim's poem shows a peaceful rhythm of calmness, a depth of meaning, clean energy enjoying freely out of secular concern. By expressing such life and heart as a poem, Imbyeokdang Kim can say that she had learned right human nature through the poem.
