시는 언어 감각을 기르고 세상을 신선하고 예민하게 인식하는 일에 도움이 된다. 시는 유용한 교육용 텍스트이다. 하지만 모든 시가 교육용 텍스트로 적합한 것은 아니다. 아무래도 좋은 시가 그렇지 못한 시보다 효과적일 수밖에 없다. 오늘날 초등학교 국어 교과서는 이 점을 충분히 고려하고 있지 못하다. 여러 가지 원인을 생각해 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 동시 장르에 대한 선입견이다. 둘째, 작품보다 학습목표를 중시하는 논리이다. 셋째, 탈(脫)정전화 경향이다. 하지만 근본적인 원인은 따로 있다. 아동문학 비평담론이 부족한 것이다. 아동문학 비평 담론이 적으면 아동문학사가 약해진다. 아동문학사가 약해지면 아동문학교육이 내·외부 논리에 좌우되기 쉽다. 동시 선별을 개인이 도맡아야 하는 부담도 있다. 본고에서는 시 일반의 주요 비평적 관점을 참고로 어느정도 보편적인 비평 기준을 마련한다. 해당 기준은 ‘정확함’, ‘실감’, ‘새로움’이다. 그리고 세 기준에 근거하여 초등학교 국어 교과서에 수록된 동시를 실제로 비평한다. 이를 통해 국어 교과서에 수록되는 동시의 문학성을 높이고 아동문학 비평 담론이 풍성해지는 데 보탬이 된다.

Poetry develops a sense of language and makes the world sensitive. Poetry is an effective educational text. Of course not all poems are texts suitable for education. A good poem is more effective than a bad one. Recently, elementary Korean textbooks seem to ignore this point seriously. There are many reasons. First, prejudice about the genre of poetry. Second, the idea that Objective is more important than poetry. Third, De-constructing the Literary Canon in poetry. But there is a more fundamental reason. It is a lack of criticism discourse on children’s literature. Less criticism weakens children’s literature. As children’s literature gets weaker, children’s literature education is more likely to unstable. There is also a problem in that the burden of selecting a poetry is passed on to the individual. Therefore, this paper sets out some universal criteria of criticism by referring to the poetry’s main critical point of view. The criteria are ‘accuracy’, ‘realistic’ and ‘novelty’. And use these criteria in children’s poems in elementary school Korean textbook to make practical criticisms.
