본 연구는 사회복지전담공무원들의 클라이언트 폭력 경험이 외상 후 스트레스장애에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 우울과 사회적 지지가 가지는 조절 효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 전국 5개 광역시 사회복지전담공무원 2,494명을 대상으로 위계적 회귀분석을 이용하여 조절 효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 여성, 연령이 낮은 집단의 PTSD 수준이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 우울 수준이 높은 집단, 사회적 지지가 낮은 집단, 클라이언트 폭력 경험이 많은 집단의 PTSD 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 언어폭력 경험, 기타 업무방해 경험이 많을수록 사회복지전담공무원의 PTSD 수준이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 사회복지전담공무원의 클라이언트 폭력 경험과 PTSD 관계에서 우울이 조절 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났으나, 사회적 지지는 유의한 조절 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 연구결과에 근거하여 사회복지전담공무원의 정신건강 수준 증진 위한 힐링프로그램, 쉼터, 심리 사회적 지지서비스 제공 등 정책적, 실천적 제언을 하였다.

This study was to identify the moderating effects of depression and social support on the relationship between client violence and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among social welfare officials. The data were collected from 2,494 social welfare officials and analyzed by using moderated stepwise regression and simple slope analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows; First, The PTSD level is higher for women and younger groups. Second, Groups with high levels of depression, low social support, and high levels of client violence were found to have higher PTSD levels than those without. Third, client violence were positively associated with PTSD and depression had moderation effects between the relationship client violence and PTSD. These findings supported the importance of specified intervention for people with complex trauma in adolescents. Suggestions of mental health social work were discussed and proposed for future research.
