Diffuse panbronchiolitis (DPB) is an idiopathic inflammatory disease, well described in east Asian population principally affecting the respiratory bronchioles, causing a progressive suppurative and severe obstructive respiratory disorder. If left untreated, DPB progresses to bronchiectasis, respiratory failure and death. In this report, we reviewed data of 274 DPB patients in a single center, from 1998 to 2019. There are some differences of clinical and epidemiological pattern of DPB when compare to other researches conducted in urban area. The peak of the age distribution among patients is in their 70s to 80s. It was higher than the peak age of other researches about DPB. In 58 cases of BAL fluids, 36% had P.aeruginosa. It could be one of the differences that deteriorate the prognosis of patients. More than 50% patients pulmonary function measurements show obstructive pattern. Vital capacity decreases and residual volume increases in advanced stages. However, diffusing capacity do not decrease. C-reactive protein increases in laboratory examination. In this report, we described clinical characteristics of DPB in Chonbuk province and the differences with other researches about DPB.
