The purpose of this study is of two folds: (1) to examine factors of leisure motivation and leisure constraint: and to present an alternative plan by analyzing leisure constraint in accordance to leisure motivation of urban worker. Subjects of this study were based on 277 urban workers in Seoul. Research methods implemented in this study consisted of questionaries(measured demographic variable), leisure motivation and leisure constraint.
The results were consistent in showing correlation between the variables. In analyzing data collected from leisure motivation, gender (demographic variable) showed statistically significant difference in competence-cognitive motivation. Based on the relationship of age and income, sex, there were significant difference in intellectual motivation. In addition, statistically significant differences <--(do you mean negative correlation?) in physical activity were shown in terms of the following variables: age, marriage, and whether children were present in the household. In examining leisure constraint according to demographic variables, there were statistically significant <--(do you mean positive correlation?) differences in economic constraint depending on the mean income, matital status, and whether children were present in the household.
According to age, there was statistically significant differences in the surrounding-conscious restraint. Finally, we studied whether or not relaxation as an indicator had correlation with intellectual motivation. As intellectual motivation had a statistically significant effect on economic and competence, surrounding-cognitive motivation had a positive correlation with time and economic constraint. Moreover, conscious constraint in regression analysis resulted in the effect of leisure motivation andleisure constraint.
