The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of videotape self-modeling and videotape self-observation on changing problem behaviors of students with autistic disorder in physical education. The subjects of this study were four students with autistic disorder. A-B-A-B withdrawal single subject research design was used to examine the effects of 18 sessions in six weeks. Baselines were classified by the examination of problem behaviors in aerobic exercise. Interventions were classified by those as well. During the interventions, the subjects watched edited oneself(subject A and B) and non-edited oneself own videotape(subject C and D) before they were examined on their problem behaviors in physical activities. The positive verbal reinforcements were permitted through the experimental period. The problem behaviors were recorded and analyzed in each exercise. The data were figured by the curve plots. The conclusions of this study were as follows:
First, there were differences in the rates of reduction on behavior problems between each subject by videotape self-modeling and self-observation. Second, the characteristics of subjects have much more on the reduction of the problem behaviors in teaching in physical education than contents of videotape do.
