The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between coaching style of golf instructors and perceived teaching effectiveness. For accomplishing these purposes, the 212 subjects were selected using the multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method from the middle school, high school students and adults in driving ranges and golf courses nearby Kyoungki-Do and Seoul in 2001. The data for the study were collected through the survey questionnaire. For the data of Leadership Scale for Sports Questionnaire developed by Chelladurai and Salelh(1978) and standardized in Korean language by Kim(1989) and for the data of instructing effectiveness questionnaire developed by Duda and Nicholls(1989) and standardized in Korean language by Sung(1995) were used. And another ones perceived coaching satisfaction Questionnaire developed by William and Hacker(1982) and standardized in Korean language by Lee(1992) were used.
The statistical methods utilized in this study for analyzing the collected data were reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, ANOVA and standard multiple regression analysis.
From the analysis of the data, the conclusions of the study were obtained as follows:
First, coaching style of golf instructors and perceived teaching effectiveness are partly different along with the socio-demographic characteristics.
Second, coaching style of golf instructors influence on the perceived teaching effectiveness.
