The purposes of this study were to identify effects of economic growth produces on in Korean society described changes of Korean elite sports and analyzed how social change had been influential with elite sports. The result of this study were as follows : First, Korean elite sports had grown by economic growth but in high rate of economic growth elite sports became rather inactive. In 60's and 70's, elite sports laid the foundations for the development by the rearing policy and in 1980's, were in their best days by the rearing policy with economic power. But in 1990's, elite sports was rather depressed by the reasons of changes of people's sense. Second, economic growth increased Korean financial scale and the budget of elite sports. The increase of sports budget influenced on the policy of the Administration but in was impossible without economic power. As the national budget increased from 154 billions in 1962 to 173trillions and 500billions in 2000, sports budget and the Administration' subside for sports increased remarkably. Third, as Korean economy grow, the participating scale of Olympic keep on enlarging. The participation and holding of Olympic need much budget together with the Administration policy. Especially without economic power we cannot dispatch the large scale national athlete in Olympic. Fourth, as the Administration is interested in the nations' welfare, The athlete' welfare also become promoted remarkably. Fifth, Korean elite sports had rapidly grown with developmental in company economics. But, when we stagnate economically in 1998, it had kept the negative effects on elite sports. As enterprises went bankrupt or the finance of firms was very bad, Sports budget shrank and the number of athlete. Economic growth had been exerted much influences on elite sports. In 60's and 70's, the Governments had promoted elite sports, however, could not achieve the satisfactory results. In 1980's, elite sports was brought up by the aid of the policy promotion for elite sports and economic power. In 1990's, sports for all and pro-sports became activated, however, elite sports rather became depressed.
