Objective: To evaluate diabetes education and psychometric properties of a Mongolian version of the PAID scale in patients with Type 2 diabetes Methods: The cross-sectional survey was conducted hospitals in Ulaanbaatar who have been controlled by endocrinologists. We had collect data before the survey and 3 months follow - up. The psychosocial assessment was done the questionnaire on Problem Areas In Diabetes (PAID) Questionnaire by 20-item survey uses a Likert-scale. A minimum score of 0 indicated no diabetes-related distress. A maximum score of 100 indicated significant diabetes-related distress. The study was conducted principal investigator obtained the Medical ethics committee of the Ministry of Health, Mongolia. Each participant gave written informed consent and study protocol was approved. Statistical analyses of data were performed using SPSS version 15.0 Results: At the first visit the PAID Questionnaire in an educated group was 44,5 ± 17.4 and at the second visit decreased 44,1 ± 16.6. However psychosocial status which includes satisfection of healthcare service, an anxiety of their disease depression related blood glucose reactions eating family and regular self-management was significantly different between educated and non-educated groups. Although our patients are diagnosed with diabetes mellitus 1-3 months ago the PAID score was very significant between educated and non-educated patients with diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: PAID Mongolian version was significantly different in non-educated newly diagnosed Diabetic Mellitus patients in Mongolia
