연변지역어에는 다른 지역어에서 볼 수 없는 간접 인용 표현 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매’가 있다. 이는 추측을 나타내는 한국어 표현‘-는/(으)ㄴ 모양이다’가 변화한 형태이다. ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매’는 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 모양이-’가 탈락, 축약, 절단, 융합이라는 과정을 거쳐 문법형태로 자리를 잡게 되었다. ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 모양이-’ 에서 ‘모양이-’의‘양’이 탈락한 후 ‘모이’가 [oj>o>wε>ε]와 같은 축약과정을 거쳐 ‘매’로 변하였다. 그 후 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매-’는 비종결형 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매-’와 종결어미가 절단된 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매’로 분화되었는데 비종결형 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매-’는 원래의 의미를 유지하 였으나 종결형 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매’는 융합과정을 거치면서 새로운 통사·의미적 특징을 갖고 간접인용의 의미를 나타내게 되었다. 이렇게 형성된 ‘-는/(으)ㄴ 매’는 이 지역의 젊은 층에서 주로 사용하고 있으며 ‘해라체’ 서술문에 쓰여 다른 사람에게서 들어 알고 있는 사실을 듣는 사람에게 전함을 나타내는 담화기능을 갖고 있다. 그 외에도 비아냥거림의 뜻도 가지고 있다.

‘-nin/(i)n mε’ is an indirect quotation expression in Yanbian dialect, which is not seen in other dialect. This form is from the Korean expression ‘-nin/(i)n moyangita’ which expresses the meaning of conjecture. ‘-nin/(i)n mε’ granted the status as a grammatical form through the processes of deletion, reduction, clipping, fusion of ‘-nin/(i)n moyangita’. This study explains it as follows. At first, the ‘yang’ was deleted from ‘moyangi-’, then the remaining ‘moi-’ went through the reduction processes of [oj>ö>wε>ε], and at last it changed to ‘mε’. After the transition, ‘-nin/(i)n mε’ was divided into the two types. One is non-final type, and the other one is final ending which is clipped. The meaning of the non-final type was not changed, but the final type ‘-nin/(i)n mε’ got the new syntactic features and semantic features, became to express the meaning of conjecture through the fusion process. This ‘-nin/(i)n mε’ is mostly used by young speakers in this dialect. And it is used in the declarative sentences of ‘hera style’, has a pragmatic function that deliver something which heard from others to the listener. Besides, it expresses the meaning of sarcasticness.
