이 논문에서는 ‘X엥이’로 실현되는 강릉방언의 유형화와 각 어휘항목의 분석을 통해 파생어형성에 관여하는 음운론적 유사성을 밝히고자 한다. 먼저 ‘X엥이’류 어휘항목은 ‘X-엥이’형, ‘X-C엥이’형, ‘XC엥이’형과 같이 크게 세 유형으로 분류할 수 있다. 이는 ‘X’ 및 ‘엥이’의 형태론적 역할에 따른 것인데 ‘X-엥이’형과 ‘X-C엥이’형은 어기 ‘X’와 접미사 ‘-엥이’, ‘-C엥이’의 결합으로 이루어진 파생어로, ‘XC엥이’형은 단일어로 분석된다. 이러한 분류에 이어 각 유형에 대한 공시적 통시적 고찰을 통해 파생어형성에 작용하는 음운론적 유사성을 살펴보았다. 공시적 측면에서는 어휘부 어휘항목과 파생어형성의 관계, 접미사의 의미 기능 등을 언급하였다. 그리고 통시적 측면에서는 문헌상에 나타나는 ‘X엥이’류 어휘항목의 시기적 차이를 통해 어휘항목간의 영향 관계를 논의하였다. 그 결과 파생어형성에는 기존의 어휘항목이 가진 음운론적 동일성을 유지하려는 경향이 있음을 알아보았다.

This paper is analysed into the dialect-forms such as ‘Xeŋi’ class in Gangneung dialect and considered as the effects of phonological similarity in derivation. First of all, the lexical items that are included in the ‘Xeŋi’ class could be divided into three types. These types are based on the morphological interpretation; The types of ‘X-eŋi’ and ‘X-Ceŋi’ are composed of the base of ‘X’ and derivational suffixes ‘-(C)eŋi’ but ‘XCeŋi’ type is analysed as a simple word. After classified, this paper is examined the phonological similarity in derivation through diachronic and synchronic approach. Synchronically, the derivation is related with the lexical items of lexicon, but the diachronic approach investigates the sequence of lexical items in historical documents. As a result, I argue that the derivation tends to maintain phonological identification of lexical items.
