본 연구의 목적은 유아교육 및 보육기관에서 유아의 신체활동 활성화 및 운동발달 향상을 위한 물리적환경평가척도(Inventory for Assessing the Preschool Environment for Physical Activity: IAPE-PA)를 개발하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 과정을 통해 연구결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 선행연구 고찰을 통해 유아교육 및 보육기관에 필요한 물리적 환경 평가 척도의 예비문항 30개를 설정하였고, 전문가에게 내용 타당도 검증을 받았다. 둘째, 본 연구의 물리적 환경평가 척도는 탐색적 요인 분석을 통해 실내 공간 환경 및 도구, 실외 공간 환경 및 도구, 협동 활동 공간 및 도구라는 3개의 하위 요인으로 분류하였다. 셋째, 본 연구의 물리적 환경 평가 척도의 하위 요인 간 상관관계를 살펴서 구인 타당도를 확보하였다. 넷째, 물리적 환경이 우수한 집단과 우수하지 않은 집단 유아의 운동능력을 비교해, 준거 타당도를 확보하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서는 Cronbach`s α 값을 살펴서 신뢰도를 확보하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 본 연구에서 개발한 척도의 내적 타당도, 구인 타당도, 준거 타당도, 신뢰도를 확보하였다.

The purpose of this study was to develop an Inventory for Assessing the Preschool Environment for Physical Activity(IAPE-PA) in early childhood education and care institution. In this study, the results were derived through the following process. First, 30 preliminary questions on the physical environment scale required for early childhood education and care institutions were established through reviewing earlier studies, and content validity was verified by six experts. Second, IAPE-PA was classified into three sub-elements through exploratory factor analysis: indoor space environment and tools, outdoor space environment and tools, space for collaborative activities and tools. Third, the construct validity was secured by examining the correlation among sub-elements of the IAPE-PA. Fourth, the criterion-related validity was obtained by comparing children’s motor development levels with good physical environment and those with poor physical environment. Finally, Cronbach's α value was examined to ensure reliability. Through this process, the internal validity, construct validity, criterion validity, and reliability of the IAPE-PA developed in this study were secured.
