이 연구는 하나님 나라의 관점에서 구약의 하나님의 영이 행하신 사역과 그 역할에 대한 통합적인 안목과 해석을 제공함으로서, 구약의 성령론에 대해 심도있는 기여를 하는 것을 목적으로 삼는다. 지난 세기 초부터, 그 중요성으로 인해, 점차 많은 학자들이 구약에 활동한 하나님의 영에 관심을 기울였고, 그것에 대한 언어적, 주제적, 그리고 신학적 연구를 심도있게 진행하였다. 그들의 연구에 강조점과 접근법의 차이에도 불구하고, 학자들은 하나님의 영의 실체, 정체성, 사역, 그리고 그 약속에 대한 분명한 해석과 조망을 제공하고자 노력 하였다. 그러나 그들의 진지한 연구와 학문적 발견에도 불구하고, 구약에서 하나님의 영이 행하신 사역의 형태와 그것의 목적에 대한 근본적이고 통합적인 해석이 부족함을 발견하게 된다. 이러한 관점에서, 논자는 주해적, 주제적으로 하나님의 영이 포함된 구약의 본문에 접근함으로써, 구약의 하나님의 영의 사역에 대한 통합적이고 근본적인 해석학적 양식과 틀을 제공하고자 한다. 이 목적을 이루기 위해, 본 논고는 세 개의 주요 부분으로 이루어졌다. 첫째 부분에서, 논자는 학자들이 지금까지 구약의 하나님의 영에 대해 진행한 연구와 견해를 살피고, 구약의 성령론에서 본 연구가 기여할 부분을 살핀다. 두번째 부분은 구약 성경과 구속사에서 하나님께서 성취하기 원하셨던 가장 주된 목적-하나님의 나라―과 그것을 언약 백성 가운데 실제적으로 구체화하였던 주요 요소들―(1)하나님의 왕적 임재, (2) 하나님의 왕적 행하심, 그리고 (3) 하나님의 왕적 법률-을 다룬다. 세번째 부분은 하나님의 영이 언약 공동체 가운데 어떻게 그분의 왕적 임재, 행하심, 그리고 법률을 구체화 하였는가를 보임으로써, 하나님의 영이 궁극적으로 하나님의 통치와 나라를 언약 공동체 가운데 세웠음을 논증한다. 결론적으로, 이상의 연구와 논의를 통해, 논자는 구약에서 하나님의 영의 근본적이고 주된 사역은 언약 백성 가운데 하나님의 통치를 구체화함으로써, 궁극적으로 하나님의 나라를 세우는 것임을 논증한다.

The present study is an attempt to offer a contribution towards a better understanding of the pneumatology of the Old Testament by providing an integrating viewpoint on the theological role of the ministry of God’s Spirit in terms of the Kingdom of God in the Old Testament. Since the beginning of the last century, due to its theological importance, an increasing numbers of the biblical scholars have begun to pay attention to the Spirit of God in the Old Testament from the linguistic, thematic, and theological dimensions. Despite differences in emphases and approach in their studies, scholars have exhibited a shared sense of concern with the task of providing a clear-cut contour for the understanding of the reality, identity, ministry, and promise of the God’s Spirit in the Old Testament. While the overall content of these studies have much to be commended, there is still lacking an integrating framework which explains the fundamental and principal role of the ministry of God’s Spirit in the Old Testament. Thus, the task of better understanding the pneumatology of the Old Testament is compelling and may require a new paradigm for our understanding of the ministry of the God’s Spirit in that period. By approaching the biblical texts thematically and exegetically, in this regard, the author will attempt to explore the ministry of God’s Spirit with special reference to the Kingdom of God and then suggest an integrating theological viewpoint on the ministry of God’s Spirit in the Old Testament in this study. In order to achieve this goal, this paper consists of three major sections. In the section I will review the scholarly opinions regarding the term, theme, and theology related with God’s Spirit in the Old Testament, and then examine the scholarly context and void this study would fill. Section II will deal with the rubric of the main purpose of God―the Kingdom of God―in redemptive history and its main elements―(1) God’s kingly presence (2) God’s kingly action, and (3) God’s kingly laws―which substantiate it in the Old Testament. In section III, we will discuss how the Spirit fulfills God’s rulership and at the same time his Kingdom in the Old Testament with his empowering and dynamic presence and power. Finally, based on these explorations and observations, the author will argue that the fundamental and principal role of the Spirit in the Old Testament is to establish the Kingdom of God in the Israelite community by and through his dynamic embodiment of God’s theocracy.
