본 연구는 그림책의 등장인물을 중심으로 유아에게 전달하는 행복의 요소 탐색과 분석을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 3∼5세 연령별 누리과정 교사용 지도서 중 생활주제 ‘나와 가족’에서 활용된 그림책 8권이다. 연구방법은 Russell(1994), Stewig(1995)의 그림책 분석범주(문학적 요소, 미술적 요소)를 기반으로 행복요소의 범주(자아성장, 긍정관계, 정서, 긍정관점 등)를 분석하였다. 또한 행복요소 범주의 내용분석은 유아교육과 행복교육전문가 4인이 5회의 협의과정을 통해 구성원 검토분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 그림책의 등장인물들은 자신만의 고유 특성과 강점을 발견하기 위해 다양한 어려움을 경험하며, 더 나은 나를 위한 성장 과정에 끊임없이 도전하고 노력하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 그림책의 등장인물들은 주변 타인들과의 관계를 통해 자신의 긍정적인 역할을 배우고 이를 기반으로 다시 타인의 삶에 기여하는 긍정적 순환관계를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 그림책의 등장인물들은 다양한 상황에 따라 언어적, 비언어적 소통방법들을 통해 긍정정서와 부정정서를 표현하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 그림책의 등장인물들은 부정적인 자기관을 다양한 계기를 통해 긍정적 관점으로 전환하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 그림책을 통해 전달되는 행복의 가치와 지식을 알아보고 영유아의 행복한 삶을 위한 그림책의 활용방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to explore and analyze elements of happiness delivered to infants through picture books. The subjects of the study were eight picture books used in the "Me and Family," among teachers' guidebooks of the Nuri Curriculum for age 3 to 5. In order for the validity and reliability of the study, four experts from early childhood education and happiness education analyzed the contents of the picture books in depth through five consultation sessions. The study results show that the "happiness elements" of the picture books from the Nuri program teachers' guidebook by age 3 to 5 were self-growth, positive relationship, emotion and positive perspective. This research result was meaningful in that it provided basic data to recognize the value and knowledge of happiness delivered through picture books and to explore ways to utilize picture books for the happy life of young children.
