The purpose of this study is to find the difference between the trained and the untrained fencers of an Electroencepahlogam. The subjects were divided into two groups such as:
Group I (3) was the trained Fencers. (career; over 3 years)
Group II (3) was the untrained Fencers. (career; under 1 year)
The EEG of each group were measure and compared under relaxed imaging Fencing Basic Movenments and performing Fencing Basic Movements. Also, it was analysed for the comparison of the EEG between the trained and the untrained Fencers. The Bacis Movements are Attention. En Garde, Allongez le Bras, Fendez-Vous adn En-Arriere. The results are as follows:
1. Relaxed with eyes closed, the trained and the untrained Fencers showed αwaves with fast waves all over the scalp. Also, α-blocking in the Frontal(Fp₁. Fp₂)
2. During imaging of Fencing Basic Movements with relaxed and eyes closed, all groups showed θ and β waves in the Frontal. And the trained Fencers appeared α-blocking all over the scalp. But among the untrained Fencers, α waves were higher in the Fp₁ and O₂.
3. During Fencing Basic Movements, the trained and the untrained Fencers appeared α-blocking all over the scalp. And θandspike-slow waves appeared highly and α-blocking showed more active in the trianed than in the untrained. Also among the untrained Fencers, α waves were higher in the O₂ and β waves were higher in the Fp₁ in all groups.
4. The comparison of the differences of % time of EEG between the trained and the untrained Fencers as follows:
All over the scalp, ralaxed with eyes closed, α waves were under 5%, and with eyes open, α waves were under 8%,.And, during imaging of Fencing Basic Movements, θ waves ranged between 0.4% and 4.8%, β waves ranged between 5.7% and 19.1%. Also, during Fencing Basic Movements, α waves ranged between 2.2% and 15.7% βwaves ranged between 6.9% and 15.7% and spike-slow waves ranged between 0.9%and 6.5%.
